Thursday, April 20, 2017 - Updated: 9:11 AMJoppa High School’s all-time leading scorer Hailey Kendall signed Monday to play basketball at Shawnee Community College.
Kendall was a four-year starter for the Lady Rangers and a four-year standout.
This past season was no different as Kendall averaged 23 points and 12 rebounds per game with 18 “double doubles.”
The possessor of a deadly short range jumper and a good touch around the goal as well as a deft touch at the free throw line, the six-foot Kendall will likely be looked at by Shawnee coach Howard Dillard as a power forward prospect.
Kendall also was a four-year starter for Joppa’s volleyball team and a three-year starter on the softball team.
Kendall plans to pursue theater and art at Shawnee with hopes of one day becoming a professional makeup artist in theater or even movies.
With Kendall, Massac’s Alexxus Thompson and potentially Meridian’s India Wade, the Lady Saints will feature three local girls this basketball season.
