MCHS softball edges Graves 5-4

Massac County’s softball team traveled to the Eagles’ Nest last week and came home a 5-4 winner over Graves County.
The ladies outhit Graves 8-6 and outplayed them in the field as Graves committed five errors to Massac’s zero miscues.
Massac got the lead early plating two runs in the top of the first. They added a single run in the third and a pair in the fourth for their five runs.
Graves put up a pair in the fourth and two more in the sixth for their four runs.  
 Ellie Weber got the win for Massac throwing a complete game. Taylor Jenkins and Kara Womack led Massac with a pair of hits apiece and Paige Box, Payton Pierce and Bailey Duckworth all had RBI.
 The girls’ schedule has been blown up also by the wet, stormy weather with games with Hardin County and Vienna being scrubbed this week.
