Thursday, April 27, 2017 - Updated: 8:48 AMAttention all hard core basketballers, ages fourth through through 12th grade. Seriously, only the diehard ballers need apply. Jason Otter, a noted trainer who has worked with some top NBA players, will be in Metropolis on Saturday, June 17 for a one-day, seven-hour basketball camp.
Otter’s camps are not for the faint of heart as he promises that each camper will be pushed out of his/her comfort zone.
It is open to both boys and girls.
While mainly a ball handling camp, Otter emphasizes, among other things, first step drills, reading defenses and concepts behind becoming more explosive.
A jump rope is one of the top tools utililized by Otter if that gives you a hint.
Lunch will be provided, but a water bottle is almost essential.
The camp is being presented by Massac County Boys Basketball.
Before deciding on the camp, organizers urge players and their parents to watch some of the video at OtterBasketball.com., with some of the footage is downright amazing.
The Patriot basketball camp will also be held in June going from the June 5-9. More information on this camp will be sent to the schools at a later date.
